Ruth's approach to facilitation
Ruth uses a model which engages the team in clarifying its values and understanding roles and responsibilities so that the team can discover a way of working together cooperatively. Ruth credits La Leche League and Playcentre for early training in facilitation and Massey University for postgraduate study about learning organisations.
Ruth understands the challenges of working within complex structured organisations and works well with ambiguity. Ruth is an Associate Member of the NZ Institute of Management.
Ruth is Deputy Chair of the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Board, a Director of the Health Regulatory Authorities Secretariat, Chair of the Sisters of Mercy Wiri Trust and a member of the Institute of Directors. Ruth served on the Boards of Wellington High School and Onehunga High School. This governance experience is an asset when coaching others on governance and management matters in community organisations.
